Network Printer Monitoring Software?

I am wondering if there is an available piece of software which will monitor all printers on my network and particularly alert me when a cartridge in a particualr printer is empty as at the moment we rely on staff calling up and telling us we are out. We have 100+ printers, all HP, currently so is there a HP piece of software or a 3rd party one anyone knows of that will do this?

I am too interested in this as my Print Server doesn't allow me to see the ink status, I have no idea why, but prints out fine.

Does HP Web Jetadmin not do this?

Most HP print servers can be configured to send email alerts. We monitor ours with SNMP

Have a look into Total Print Management solutions from HP. There is a whitepaper here to get you started.
