hi guys,
having endless trouble with my network here. I have router downstairs connected to one pc. A cable runs from it to a switch upstairs where 2pcs and a laptop are connected. I have a fan heater beside my desk. Anytime i hit the power on button my switch locks and i have to reboot it? Would this be an electrical fault in the switch? Both items are connected to the same socket on the wall.
Another problem is with my router. Sometimes i just cannot access the net at all. Apparently it is my PPP layer that is not connecting. Below is the log file for a diagnostic test that i ran earlier. The net has just come back on in last 5 minutes without me doing anything apart from switchin router off and on again. This doesnt work every time.

Would this be a problem with my router or an ISP problem? It really really annoys me and i can never be guaranteed that my connection is going to work. The router also gets very hot so i wouldn't be surprised if it is on its last legs. Its a few years old now and is a piece of rubbish anyways.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Jonny
