Hi All,
I am looking for a bit of advice, I am currently reorganizing my workplaces network. We have 2 buildings with about 15 XP PCs and a WIN2003 server in each. Each server was set to its own domain and had its own net connection one ADSL and one Satellite.

I have managed to get a bonded ADSL connection into our main building and have put a CAT5e cable between the two. This means I can now get rid of the satellite connection which was costing a lot and had too much latency.

My intention is to now run one domain and put all 30 PCS on it using the bonded ADSL router as the gateway.

Four of the PCs will be used by office admin and the rest will be used by students.

I am trying to work out the best way to utilize both of the Win2k3 servers. One thought is to run one as the AD, DNS and a file server for Admin, whilst the other is runs as a file server for the students as well as being used to backup the admin files.

I am a self taught admin so pretty clueless on network topology. Does anyone with more experience have any suggestions ?

Cheers

Joining the two servers into one domain is a good idea.

How you split the servers depends on the specification of each server. Are you using any form of Proxy software to regulate internet access?

no Proxy at the moment, though I will be using a separate pc with the bonded ADSL CD to bond the broadband connection, this will also act as a router and also contains squid a proxy server.
