Network sharing permissions?

Hi,

I have a quick question regarding sharing on my network at home. I have two PCs connected both using Windows 7. If I share a folder is it safe to set the permission to "Everyone"? I'm guessing this doesn't mean it would be publicly visible outside of my home network??

I hope this is the correct forum to post this question in.

A yes I think this is the correct section and yes so long as you have a broadband router / firewall it shouldn't allow external access.
