Hi.
Ive gone a bit blank here, can anyone tell me why this is happening?:

I just rebuilt a laptop from scratch, installed XP, updates, drivers, office and 2-3 other apps. Added to the domain, works fine.

If the staff log on though, they get a v.large start menu with loads of apps listed, which arnt actually installed, but would be on normal workstations.

For the life of me i cannot find where this info is stored on the server, as i would like to stop it doing that to new machines and have only applications that are installed on each machine locally listed.

Thanks in advance all. :).

Am i correct in thinking that removing the start menu enteries in \\server\d\profiles' would fix my problem, but would need me to create start menus for each workstation?
Because if so, i can do that quite easyily when i do a new system build in the summer. :).

If each profile is linked to the one on the sever, then yes, deleting the start menu entries would help.
Im a novice at servers etc, but if you click on properties on a user profile, then click on the "Profile" tab, there, if they are linked to a profile on the server, it will tell you.
