Network speed?

Hi guys,

I got a little problem with network speed.

When I'm Streaming Video from my Synology Box through my WDTV Live 1 to my TV it works fine with no lag or freezes, but when I'm streaming video through my WDTV live 2 to the other TV it will either not load or is so laggy that it's unwatchable.

Any Ideas?

Is that a gigabit switch?

Connect the WDTV Live 2 to the Switch and test, the problem maybe be the DGN2000.

Both of them work when connect to the Switch Directly.

What speeds should i bet getting over the network from the router through the switch to the desktop?

Transfer speeds when connected at 100Mbps should be 12.5MB/s.

more like 5mb - 7mbs

SO,
no lag direct to the the switch but when piping traffic via your router its laggy?

DMZ the WDTV2?

If im right in saying you shouldnt need to DMZ as no firewalls should be active internally on the netgear.

Run a network benchmark to see the transfer speed difference. I would wire into your Gigabit to see if that corrects it.
