Network switch update

Hi
I am looking a buying a new network switch as I need more ports.
My house is wired with cat 5 cable is it worth getting a 1000 one (below) or am I wasting money I am on true fiber Internet.

I would say for lengths you have at home CAT5 "should" be short enough to sustain 1gbps links..

You don't need a managed switch. Just the cheapest Gigabit that has enough ports for you. I have a Netgear with 16 that works great.

The TP link TL-SG108S is a very competent switch and will do you fine.

I tell you what mostly affects the prices of these things, is the warranty. It's common to find them with either a three year or lifetime warranty. Netgear, in particular, do two ranges, and the only difference between them is the warranty (and so price). So, the first thing you should check with a switch, is what's the warranty. That TP link is lifetime, so it's a good buy.
