Hi Guys,

Ive got a strange problem, i formatted the pc last week to clear off all the usual junk, and obviously i resinstalled all drivers etc but now my network throughput has become very unstable.
Local Transfer between my laptop and PC is only 600-800KB/s and on the net the best i can get is 1mb/s after leaving it to 'build up' slowly, where as the laptop pulls 1.8MB/s straight away

Ive changed the Wireless card, tried static ip rather than dynamic, rebooted router and factory reset, turned firewall off, closed NOD, removed the overclock, updated bios, updated chipset drivers to latest ones, ummm think thats it.

Anyone got any ideas? Its driving me round the bend, transfer speeds change massively, aka 680kb/s one second then drops to 300 then 1MB/s the next.

Thanks in advance guys

Jas

What signal strength was is showing? Does the transfer get better closer to the router?

Another reason could be RFI or some sort of physical interference. Microwave ovens seem to have a habbit of playing games with wifi :) despite the fact on paper they shouldn't .....
