Network Utilization & Transfer Speeds on Gigabit Network?

I just managed to find out my switches model, its the GS105. But, when i checked the netgear site, the GS105 listed there is different from my one. On the netgear site it is a small switch with just 5 ports and indicator LEDs at the corner of each cable, on mine it has all that but also is a couple inches wider as it has a activity indicators, showing gigabit connectivity status and activity on each cable. Not sure if it is some strange older model, or a model that has the wrong designation. If it does have jumbo frame support that would be great as currently file transfer are just so slow compared to what i should be getting.

Right just a quick update, thanks for all the replies. I purchased a cheap Intel Gigabit NIC after recommendations from various people and I have to say it's really improved the transfer speeds and consistancy, so I'm fairly happy now. Just got to do a bit more testing.

Just don't, some of their results in the past have been rubbish.

Well I'm back to square one, transfer speeds of under 12MB/s with the new Intel NIC.

How much was the Gigabit nic? I have a PC in the living room that could do with Gigabit as Dell saw fit to only put 10/100 in it.....and it was last years model!

I paid £7.08inc from a well known auction site. E-mail me or add me to msn if you want the item number, was the cheapest I could find.
