currently i have my modem hooked upto my router with a 0.5 metre RJ45 then from my router to my pc room with a 30metre RJ45

problem is i've moved all my consoles into this room and not really a fan of wireless so would it be ok to,

plug my router into my modem via a 30metre RJ45 then plug my pc and consoles into the router with 1 metre RJ45's, would i experience and issues using such a long wire from modem > router such as lag or anything

if it makes any odds my Download is 50Mb and my upload is 1.5Mb

Just so you know, RJ45 is the name of the connector on the end of the cable, not the cable itself. The most common ethernet cable is Cat5e, although Cat6 cable is slowly being used more and more.

whats the difference between them

i got my 30 metre ones free with my virgin media 50meg package
