Not quite sure what has happened here but here is brief synopsis of my issue:

I have a Linksys router running DD-WRT acting as a client bridge to my Broadband Router (Some speedtouch doohickey I got free from Bethere, my ISP).

It had been running perfectly with a NAS and a printer attached to it via ethernet cables, making them all accessible wirelessly. All of a sudden the NAS and printer fell off the network.

I connected my laptop up to the DD-WRT router and can log in to it using its default ip address (192.168.1.1) but cannot log in to it from my desktop PC which is connected to the SpeedTouch.

I did a factory reset on the DD-WRT and set it back up as a bridge and could log in to it from my desktop PC. Job done, or so I thought. Connected the NAS and Printer and all was fine.

It fell off the network after about 5 mins again :( My iPhone and other devices can connect to the SpeedTouch so I am at an utter loss what is up with the DD-WRT router. Either it is kaput or there is something else to try?

So, anyone have any suggestions and if not, can anyone recommend a replacement router to connect the NAS and Printer to my Speedtouch based home network?

Thanks in advance for any help!

managed to get it to connect to the network again briefly but it keeps loosing connection and when it is connected it is slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Any recommendations of a router that will let me do what I want to do i.e. network a NAS and a printer to my workgroup?

upgraded the firmware but still no luck :( I can connect to the router by wired connection but not by wireless.

If I reboot the router, it finds and connects to the wireless network but is very slow and drops off the network after a short time.

Any ideas or recommendations for a replacement wireless bridge?

I found tomato useless as a wireless bridge. DD-WRT was much more stable, what version of DD-WRT are you running? what linksys is it?

WRT54GS v6 linksys router and the V24 pre SP2 build. I was running the SP1 build until it lost connectivity.

The only thing that has changed on the network is the removal of a Wii and adding an 02 Joggler to the setup. It all worked fine then mysteriously packed in.

Like I say, if I power down and power up the router I can login via wireless but it is VERY slow and after a while falls off the network. All the time I can log in via cable from my laptop.

driving me mad this now....had it unplugged for a few days...connected fine yesterday and worked like a dream all night.

Got home today and boom, cannot connect to the linksys via 192.168.1.1 apart from using a cable. Wondering whether the BeBox is on the blink as the iphone is struggling to connect to that also, as im my other half's laptop. Intermittent disconnects on both devices.

Grrrrrr

It could well be the main router, I have found mt WRT54GL (DD-WRT) faultless as a bridge, it's often laststed 60+ days up (manual restarts). It could be either really. But check the main router.

Most linksys kit has a wee reset button, See if it does you any good, it might have borked itself.
