Network won' connect unless I turn on the modem and router after I enter Windows?

I have a Nvidia network controller for a P5N-E (C2D) motherboard and I have an unidentified network every time I enter Windows.

The only solution i've found is to turn off the modem and router until I enter Windows. After that, I simply plug them both in and the Internet works.

Any ideas why this is?

Have you tried it, with the Nvidia network controller disabled?

How do you mean? My apologies for any glaring misunderstanding, but that will just disable the network.

Don't you have at least 2 LAN Ports on the mobo? 1 is the Nvidia one and the other is Marvell Lan Port. Disable the Nvidia one, and use the Marvell one instead.
