Networked Storage

Hey guy I have a couple of old PC's hanging about and I was wondering what would I need to do if I wanted them to be used as Networked Storage.

Also in the future when I upgrade could I just have a SSD in the main rig with Windows & Apps and then have the other storage hosted from another computer?

Connect them to the network and set up sharing permissions.

I have 4 hdd in my main pc which can all be accessed for the laptop, I would suggest ensuring the pc are wired for better connection

As above, also, if you're not connecting a monitor/keyboard to it make sure you have some type of remote access setup as well.

You could try installing something like freenas on a spare pc.
