Networking 2 Pc's

Hi, i have my laptop with some quite large files on it and i was wondering if it would be possible to send them to my friends laptop via his router (prefered) or a network cable (dont have) to save writing them to a disk.

Unless his router's wireless (and if the files are all that big, it's going to take some time to transfer), you're still going to need a cable to connect to it.

it is wireless but is it just a network cable between the 2 network ports and thats it?

The easy way, assuming his router is set up as a DHCP server:

Ensure your PC is set up to use DHCP
Turn on file sharing in windows and in any firewall, for both PCs
Connect your laptop to his router with an ethernet cable

You should be good to go

What 2 network ports? You mean the switch port on the router and a network port on your machine?
