Networking a shared device, how can i do it?

At work we have a digital camera.

Its pluged in to 1 PC but if the other PC needs it we have to pull the USB cable out and swap it over.

Can this device be shared via the network? the printer is shared but IT seemed reluctant to do it. (didn't know how?)


I'm guessing it's as simple as sharing the device and then finding it on the network as a shared drive.

Would the camera software work after this? Some users wouldn't know how to get photos off without the wizard.

Thats the problem, its internal memory on the camera (cheap/old)

Hmmmm... never thought about in not coming back after disconecting..


I'll have a try at home 1st don't think the co-op wants me killing the network trying an idea!
