Hi all,

I need some advice.

I am busy helping a friend who has had an extension built on their house.

The problem is, the wifi signal there is nonexistent.

So, what's the best option of extending the existing network?

Homeplugs? Range extender? Second router as repeater?

Also, wifi or network cabled?

Just wanted a second opinion before I make a decision.

Thanks.

:D

personally I prefer cabled, but its not for everyone and if I was going wireless I would ensure that its wireless n network router... and network extender... I not too confident with homeplugs and the speed depends on the quality of the wire thoughout the house.

Powerline adapters?
A really long Ethernet Cable?
Wireless extender(s)?

3 main/major options for a connection within the extension. Alternatively, just buy a cheap wireless router and use the wired configuration (4 Ethernet ports) to run along to the room/rooms (part of the housing) - you could also try extending the wireless range by moving the router somewhere else and rearranging certain bits in the house. ;)

No problems,

BuZ!

Where i work we put in powerline adapters for customers in this postition and they work a treat.

Running a cable can be a pain in the ass.
