Im starting my final year of a networking degree soon and im thinking of taking the graduate scheme route once i finish. Im just curious as to whether anyone here is currently doing one, or has completed one? Is it a better option than immediately looking for work?

Orange grad schemes look really good, does anyone know of any others?

thanks

andy

Grad schemes are (generally) seriously good - they give the jobs the uni's tell you a degree gives u access to (the 25k/30k + benefits right from uni kinda thing) the training is generally superb and you are very "visible" in the company.

I work for a blue chip, came here from about a year after uni and gone the normal route (crap job, better job). The guy who went the graduate route was account manager for a support contract they have with a major high st bank (basically in charge of the whole operation) and was 1 year outta uni.

Dont expect to get into them easy tho - competition is usually fierce - you generally need a 1st to have a good chance of getting past the CV/application stage.
