Hey,

I just got a new computer, and want to network it with my laptop.

I have a netgear DG843G v2 router with a Netgear wireless card in my laptop and the computeris connected via a ethernet cable.

I want to netowkr it, ive done the netowkring stuff you have to do I think but my laptop dont show at all on my comp and vice versa for the laptop?

All I have done is the windows networking thing.

Help is verp apprechiated.

Dave!

Nope, the other PC isnt picking up this one and vice versa. When running the IP all I get is "\\IPADDRESHERE

The network path cannot be found"

Any other ideas?

How ya ping them? (never had to do much netowrking before, soz for stupidness.)

Both the firewalls are off, the router firewall is stll on though.

Okey, I have had a bit of luck. Went in the router settings and went onto connected devices, ran one of the IPs in there and got my alppy (even tho thats not the actual IP of that comp).

So hopefully it SHOULD work now ok

Can now access my laptop from my PC, now to do the other way round >.<

EDIT: All I get whne trying to acess my comp is

""\\IPADDY is not accessable"

and all the contact admin stuff.

Dave

Any more advice lol?

Okey, now the comp shows up in the network folder but when I click it I get the error message...

"\\Dave is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the admin of the server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network path was not found."

Any help, ta.
