Afternoon chaps.

Just helping out a mate in his studio.

No, I know nothing at all about Mac's....

All we need to do is to be able to access files stored on a G4 on a Powerbook (G4) and hopefully a windows based Laptop.

So we've got a a G4 "mirrordoor"?? connected to a BT home hub via ethernet, drives on this machine, a stack of external drives.. A G4 Powerbook connected via airport to the HomeHub, An acer Windows Laptop also wirelessly connected to the homehub.

I've got IP's for each machine, I've got each machines name... But I don't know where to start even getting the 2 Mac's to share files with eachother

Any help, or a nudge in the direction of help would be greatly appreciated (I'd even buy you a pint if you lived anywhere near me :D )

Well ... there isn't really much to do really, all that needs to be done is connect a wire between the two of them, switch them on and on the mac go into the Finder (the blue face icon on the bottom left), go up to Network in the side panel and look for the shared folder on the windows computer ... and start dragging your files across.

Cheers Magsafe.

Now I've got the Powerbook able to see files on the Windows laptop..

But, all the music files we really need to access are on the G4.
I worded the OP in a confusing way.

Basically, we want the G4 to act as a file server. So all we need is to get the Powerbook and the windows machine to be able to see the files stored on the G4 (has file sharing enabled)

Where we're at now is, the Powerbook can see & access a shared drive on the Windows laptop.
Windows lappy can't see anything else.
G4 can't see anything.
Nothing can see the G4.
Nothing can see the Powerbook.

Think I need a pint, these things always make more sense after a few jars :)

EDIT---

If it helps at all:

G4 is on 10.3.5
Powerbook - 10.4.7
