Networking my old PC to shiny new iMac

Hi guys,
forgive my noobness, being a switcher i have a question.
I've just bought a shiny new 24" iMac and want to copy all my music/pics etc from my dinosaur Pc to the Mac.
Can I and if so how do i network them both for this purpose?
By the way did I mention I own a 24" iMac WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

Bottled it and went down the usb hard drive route.
This thing kicks A$$!!!!!
