If I want to play Supcom over a network at home will I need to buy two copies of the game?

try running it without the disc in the drive, if it runs then probably not.

As with most things - suck it and see.

i can confirm it works on at least two pcs with one game

but the thing is it's only over network, not online

it works online, but not "proper online"

As in, I could play against my friend who is in another flat just by connecting to his IP. I couldn't play against him on GPGNet though.

It can be done, I have played against myself for the sake of testing on my 2 pcs. You just need a no-cd crack.
Won't work online, but its fine for LAN use.
