Networking through the elecrical circuit

Has anyone any experience of this.
A guy I know wants a wireless network but there are some really thick brick walls that may affect signal strength. I,ve googled for reviews but with no luck

My friend uses it and swears by it. Then again he was just wasting money as he had no reason not to use his existing wireless.

If you put the wireless AP in the loft, then the wall thickness is not an issue,
as the signal just has to pass through two ceilings
