I have a Windows XP laptop and a Windows XP desktop PC. Both have the same workgroup name and firewall permissions set. Simple file sharing is turned off. I have a folder on each computer shared and can view either folder on both computers so I can see that file sharing is partly working.
The problem I have is setting permissions to folders. When I click 'permissions' then 'locations' the other computer doesn't show- only the current one does. When I try and manually enter the computer location it says that the location doesn't exist. Either computer shows up in 'view workgroup computers'. My question is how do I get the other computer to show up?
