We have a BT Home Hub upstairs which a homeplug runs off of, the network runs through the electricals and downstairs is another home plug which plugs into the bt vision box.

I want to plug my xbox (not 360) into the network but the homeplug only has 1 ethernet cable coming from it so my choice as i see it is to get another home plug or to split the one that is already now.

What's going to be the cheapest option?

Thanks,

Andy

A switch will almost certainly be the cheapest / easiest way of getting what you want.

Something like:

Would suffice, bear in mind that the speed of the link between things plugged directly to the home hub and the extra switch will be greatly limited by the speed of the homeplug network.

Getting a little switch will also mean there are spare ports downstairs if you ever get another console or some kind of media streaming device.
