been trying for weeks to overclock always failing, enanbling llc, adjusting pci mv, clock skew, qpi pll, all this all that. never had any of it.

so a few days ago, i goes into bios after a clear cmos. i just do one thing - change vcore to 1.26750 set my multi to 21 get it to 3.8.

ran like a champ since. had it on full load for hours on end, even batman arkham asylum runs brill. been running brill for days now. and all i had to do was change vcore :S nothing else. is this alright ? from a techie point of view, once i start messing with other settings its just knackers up and bsods.

also are these temps okay for 3.8 ?

prime is around 69-71.c

is it normal for it to creep to 81.c ?

if not what could i do to improve the temps ?

cheers.

So what settings were you trying when you were failing? Now, are all your voltages on auto (except vcore of course)?

yeah i think everythings on auto. only thing changed voltage wise is vcore to around the setting i mentioned.

before i was setting vcore to 1.3 same with qpi pll

llc to level 1

dram to 1.65

cpu (skew) ? to 800mv

pci mv to 102

things like this.

i find the GB boards to be spot on when you use auto , the only thing i have done on my ud5 is the cpu and ram voltage , in fact i lowered cpu pll to 1.4 and it seemed to help overclocking .

im currently running 180mhz x 23 at 1.34v on crappy ram until my proper stuff comes back from RMA

temps too high for 0% load

your 950 should be hitting 4ghz easy on a h50 at better temps

the ud7 WILL clock that chip
