Never been in my attic before

I live in a 100 year old terraced house and have never been in the attic. I'm scared to get up and into it.

I have a false ceiling on the landing with a void between the real ceiling where the proper loft hatch is. I've slid the false hatch open and slid the real loft hatch open and had a look up with a torch but not stuck my head up yet.

Do I need to man up?

Far as I know no one has been up there for at least 30 years.

Apart from plumbers fixing leaks.

Not managed to get up there today. I need to borrow a longer ladder. My step ladders just aren't long enough. I will get in there one day!

Getting some decent ladders tomorrow so I can finally get up into the loft. Exciting times. :cool:

I hope there is some goodies up there. Either way, got surveyor coming next week to see about loft and wall insulation so he'll be going up anyway.

I'll add some pics of my attic soon. Although I never went in all the way, only popped head through.
