i got a letter in october or something saying "please come and collect your examination certificate".. I never did, but does it even matter, because ive got the actual results papers that you get on the day of your results..

cheers

yeh the ones you get on the day arnt the 'official' ones. I left mine a few years then went back to my school not long ago and they still had them.

As far as I know, the ones you get on results day are provisional and aren't official and therefore don't count as full proof of achieving that grade.

I don't think it was a very wise move to not pick up your certificates. Especially if you need them in the future you'll have to pay to have them reprinted.

you mean the ones which say "This is not a certificate" which don't prove anything...

probably doesn't matter, but it depends what further qualifications you have / intend to get? Worth doing at least having them if it's not much effort

To be honest after degree level no one is really going to care about your GCSE results. You might be asked to have obtained a C+ in English but I can't seem them having a problem if you can't produce a certificate to prove it

You could try going to your old school and seeing if they still have them.

I left sec. school 3/4 years ago, couldn't find my certificates so they printed off my results and attached a letter explaining. Hope that's good enough for an uni's that ask for them.

Yes you should pick it you never know when you will run into some HR jobsworth, for my fist job they wanted hard copies of everything I swear if you put on your cv that you got a badge in scouts they would want to see it

The next employer same industry only wanted my degree/professional qualifications so you might get lucky might not

I don't think I have GCSE certificates OR A level certificates.
I've never needed them yet. Never bothered collecting my GCSE ones and my college threw out my college ones.

Not paying for reprints so if I need them, they'll have to make do with my degrees.

I only had the print out results of mine and did'nt realise you got certificates (yes im dumb) and while I was in college some lecturer lost my damn print out as he wanted it to do a photo copy of it

I left school in 2000 and think it was like 4 years later I knew about I should have gotten certificates.

How do you go about getting reprints of your GCSE's and how much are they ?

If you dont collect it from the school.. they send it back to the exam board which you then have to pay for it afaik

if you need to ask, it begs the question how you managed to get one or more GCSE's.

Our school gets rid of them after a year. Pretty harsh to be honest.
