So i've seen photos on here of peoples projects and case mods and some look really impressive. I'd love to have a more personalised computer with a sleek looking design.

My current case is an iCute Turbine in Black with silver front panels(can't upload pics as i'm at work but google should bring up pics)

I may change the case in the future but for now I am thinking of some simple mods really. I would love to maybe paint the case with some pictures down the side, I would love to put some Warcraft characters or something along those lines. But I have no idea how to do it and where to start.

Just looking for some advise, ideas and whats involved in painting a case of any other mods. As for money I wish to spend, well I prefer to put my budget on whats inside the machine but will happily spend up to £50 on the aesthetics of the computer

Nobody? lol

Well since I started the thread i'm thinking of emptying the case and getting some spray paint and experimenting :)

Spray is always a good one. Strip the case down as much as you can and spray the inside like a wow red and stuff. If you dont mind having a go on your current case.. If not try it out on a old one?

  • Spray painting inside/outside
  • Cable braiding
  • Lighting
  • Stealth buttons/switches
  • Fan controllers
  • Lighting Controllers
  • Cutting bits out to fit water cooling radiators
  • Dynamic lighting (changes with temperature)

Just a list of what I thought of off the top of my head.

To be honest I think the iCute Turbine is a god awful 1900s looking case. I would buy a new one. For £50 you could buy a better looking and probably better performing case.

I agree I dislike its looks. It was free though and is easy to work in and quite well built. Just ugly as anything.

Thanks though I may spray paint the inside and outside and add some lighting

You could try taking a look at a lot of the build threads that are currently in the rig sections, these people have a hell of a lot of ideas and you could always try implementing some designs as done there?

What I was thinking is getting some spraypaint, empyting the case and spraypainting the inside black(i think black interior will mean the blue fans and blue sockets on the mobo(the PCB of the mobo is black) will stand out more. Then on the outside of the case(which is black and silver on the front) I may use sellotape and with that draw out decals/images on the case, spraw paint, remove the tape and in theory should look pretty good

Not sure what sort of design to go for, may have various logos from my fav games but not sure
