Never Overclocked before... but interested

From my bios ..... ( p.s ive never overlcocked anyhting before, but would like to know more about it )

overclock profile-------------auto
overclock options------------disabled
n.o.s option-----------------disabled
cpu frequency---------------200.0
pci express clock------------100mhz
ddr voltage------------------auto
chipset voltage--------------1.5v
ht voltage-------------------1.20v
cpu multiplier----------------auto
cpu voltage-----------------auto
pci clock sync mode---------auto

running amd athlon 64 processor 3200+ 2.01ghz
ASUS A8N SLI premium MB
2047 DDR Ram
Vista
600w PSU

Anything else needed ?

 
You have read through the stickies I'm guessing? Just they are very imformative for people starting out with Overclocking.
 
Set overclock profile to manual to enable all the overclocking options. Set PCI-E frequency to 101MHz just in case. Set PCI clock sync mode to 33MHz (think it should have that option).

There should be an option in the BIOS somewhere to change the HT multiplier from x5 to 4, 3, or 2. Set this to x4 until your FSB hits 250MHz and then change it to x3 if you go over 250Mhz.

Just reading through that post now, as i spotted it as the previous post was to read the sticky.

Im off to bed now but will re-check this post after work tommorow and have a go with some new settings

The missus pc could be done too, i wont attempt that yet until i done mine though

Just leave the CPU multiplier at it's max for now, you need to find the HT multiplier setting somewhere in the BIOS, that's the one you need to set to x4.
