i have to use this gpu temporarily till a new one arrives and to be honest this seems worse than the 4 year old graphics in my laptop, is there a way to boost more graphic power for gaming out of this card, considering I'm running a relatively powerful CPU.
????

How long until the new one arrives? Geforce x10 cards are usually below trash, and haven't improved since the GT 210. A used card for £25 will be miles ahead.

a few days hopefully
I just wanna maximise this , basically I only really play fortnite right now and I can only play that on the lowest settings with fps of about 40-55 max , why so low. considering my cpu I thought id get better gaming performance its actually really bad.

The 710 is no graphics card at all. It really just exists to allow video output on machines with no integrated graphics. Like I say, it's more or less equivalent to the GT 210, so consider how long ago that came out (and was the bottom of its family even then)

Are you playing 1280x720?

It is your graphics card that is letting you down,

I don't know your power supply but i recommend you buy this gpu it will give you a big increase in fps/frames per second when compared to your current graphics card.
