Hey all,

I've been having random freezing in Windows 7 and after a bit of Googling, I've come to the conclusion the RAM may be faulty.

I have 16GB of matched Gskill RipJaws 1600MHz, so 4 sticks in 4 slots. Running Memtest from bootable CD I get 1 red line, similar to this..

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

*THIS IS NOT MINE, BUT JUST AN ILLUSTRATION OF WHAT I SEE*

This happens almost immediately, but I've left it running today whilst I'm at work to see if any more errors surface.

Does this mean one of the sticks is faulty? :(

Thanks

Thanks for the info Huddy!

Just followed the advice, tested 1 stick at a time.. 1 has failed in two different slots while the others consistently pass.

I guess this means RMA to Gskill? Will they want the single stick, or the pair? I know it seems obvious, but I'm guessing the sticks aren't tied to each other in that way and don't want to send more than I need to.

RMA submitted, just waiting to hear back.

Thanks for all your help! Praying for a fast turnaround :)
