Hi all
Been on these forums for a while, dippin' in and out of the various boards. Most recently trollin' on GD (sorry) due to slow days at work. I think it's about time I said my bit.
I joined the OcUK forums at the end of my 1st year at Uni. Somehow I managed without any form of computer of my own in 1st year, and strangely enough this was the year in which I got my best marks!! Living proof that computers aren't necessarily effective productivity tools
Anyway, back then I knew very little about PC hardware, or tech in general. I decided I needed a PC and my housemate suggested I built my own get on "Overclockers" to see some components etc. Pretty daunting thought at first but after quite a bit of research I plucked up the courage and went for it. The whole process changed my life more than you might expect. After all the research I did it gave me a "bug" that made me want to always know what the latest stuff was and how it performed etc - sad really Knowing about how to build PC's led to knowing about the best accepted software etc etc.. it's a time consuming process knowing about all this stuff as I'm sure loads of you would agree.
So yeh... several years later I still pop on the forums regularly to see what's hot and what's not. My "PC" section in my bookmarks is vast, and I read daily tech sites to know what's going on.
I can thank OcUK for triggering this journey of geekiness, or maybe I should hate you all for it, as it has taken some of my "normal" life away (jk thanks really!)
XXXXXX
PS maybe I should sort a sig out.
