hey guys, was wondering what would be the next viable upgrade for my pc, dont get me wrong its doing ok at the moment but it churns a little.

Full spec:

2.8 prescott @ 2.9
4 x 256 twinmos 3200
aopen 6800gt 256
gigabyte 8ig-1000g
creative audigy 2 platinum
17" dell crt (7yr old)
2x seagate 80gb sata

Now i dont have much money atm and as im out of work will take me a lil while to save up.

I guess my options would be along the lines of:

Asrock + cpu so i can keep my agp card
or
a fresh 2gb ram
or
samsung 930bf

What would u guys do/upgrade?

Boo

Should be alrite but whats the point in playing on that res with a 7yr 17" CRT! Get a Belina or Viewsonic 19". That spec should last you till autumn, i.e sept/oct. If you get 2gb mem.

All 19" TFT monitors have a 1280*1024 resolution and your system will be fine to run games at that res but you might have to give up using AA and AF in the future.

But if you haven't got a lot of money maybe look at a 2nd hand 17" TFT with a 1280x1024 resolution?

If you want to upgrade your monitor have a look for a second hand 21” Cornerstone CRT. I bought one from an auction for £60 and its been great. A 21” monitor really does make a difference when your gaming and the picture quality is very good. It's by far the best value upgrade I've done and i cant recommend them enough.

I've had this one for about 18 months now and it's still as good as the day I bought it, takes up a bit more room than a TFT I'll admit but it has the same size footprint as a 19” monitor so its not that bulky.
