Hi, I'm pretty clueless about this stuff so I hope someone here can help me.

I have a 290X with a reference fan that I could without listening to any longer.... Am I right to get a G10 Kraken, then as little as Corsair Hydro H55?.

Is that all I need and is that the bare minimum, what's the best, middle, worst to choose from?. If I have to get higher than the 55 if what I'm reading is correct, then I'm willing to spend a little more.

Would the cooler work on 980Ti/1070s etc?.

Thank you for anyone willing to help!!.

John

G10 and H55 works well as a combo. I used to use one on my 980ti and saw decent temps of around 50-55c under load.

Not sure if the G10 will fit the 290x, but if it does, then it would be fine on a 980ti.

It will work on 290x and also a 980ti. It probably wont work on a 1070 as the mounting holes are a bit different I think one is out a bit but there is nothing to stop you drilling a correct hole on the G10 bracket as its thin metal. I used the H55 on my 980ti and it was fine.

I would email NZXT with your exact model to check what they recommend as some require different screws and possibly a shim.

Recommend you get some heatsinks for the VRM and buy a different fan as the one supplied with the G10 is a bit naff. Cant remember which one I got now except it had a red LED to match the red G10. One of the Noctua 92mm fans will be a lot better than the supplied one.
