Hey,

I'm a NWN2 noob. I've just recently bought it on steam, and need help with class selection.

I've been looking through the classes, and can't quite decide which fit my style. I've googled but with such a dizzying array of info I don't have the 5 months to spend researching, so I'm being a lazy person and asking here! :p

Basically in games I like being melee in your face but with some magic. A bit like a Death Knight for example in WoW. I typically prefer 'darker' characters.

So with that terrible description, ideas? :p

Cleric sounds like it'd be good for you. http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Cleric

Can be goody or baddy, can use simple weapons, armour and shields (not tower).

When you get the Prestige for it, Eldritch Knight might be good too. http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Eldritch_knight

For my first char I used the preset character levelling thing to build a Rogue, as it was all too much for me to figure out first time round.
Once I'd got used to how the game worked and what would be good for what, I picked a Monk (goodygoody) and levelled him the way I wanted to. He's awesome.

I would go for the paladin, great fighting stats and decent healing, as well as some interesting unique skills. Limited in your alignment, behaviour and possibly companions though.

I would suggest fighter then blackguard as a prestige class. Or as previously suggested cleric, or perhaps even ranger then blackguard.

I played nwn for years online, and still havnt built each class.
The best bit about nwn (2) is the online aspect. Jump in and join players on the Baldurs Gate PW (under roleplay tab). Thats where the real fun (and pain) is at.

I jumped straight into d&d by playing online and had the best time of any game ive ever played.

I mainly play a druid, since he has spells and can wear armour without penitilies (full plate if you take the feat). Also when im running away from the **** i can cast lots and lots of summoning spells to delay the bad guys.
