New 10" tablet for seven year old

Hi there.

My 7 year old is after a new tablet for Christmas and I would be really grateful for some advice on which one to get.

He has had a 7" Fire Tablet for many years and whilst he loved it (particularly the battery life), he needs a bit of an upgrade:

Things we would like:

Preferably 3/4 GB RAM
Decent battery life
SD card slot
Android (as opposed to Amazon) - my son's biggest complaint was that he was unable to download from the Play Store

Any advice on what to get would be much appreciated.

get a Fire tablet and sideload the playstore on it. Loads of videos on how to do it

Hi there.

One other quick thing, if I may.

I have noticed, having watched a number of videos, that there are two ways of getting the Playstore on the tablet:

Sideload it (easy) or using Fire Toolbox (more advanced).

Is it worth the bother of doing the second method?

Seems to give a more stock Android experience and would appear to allow you to get rid of a load of bloatware.

Sorry to hijack this thread but once you've install Google Play on it can you play games like Clash of Clans natively or do you need to use an emulator?
