I would like to get a new PSU for my Unraid server.

I currently have a 660W X-Series Seasonic and am running the following:

i7 5820k
Geforce 210
Geforce 1070GTX
10 * WD 3tb Reds
1 * 500gb Samsung 850 Evo
13 * 120mm Case Fans
2 * LSI SAS Cards

I am getting some issues with the server at the moment and I am thinking it is likely that I am getting close to the maximum that the PSU can cope with so looking at an upgrade.

I can spend around £200. Not sure what to go for though. Have been looking at the Seasonic 1200W. Does anyone have any better suggestions? Would like something absolutely rock solid as this machine runs 24/7.

PSU isn't too old. I am running a VM on my server which is crashing when I play games.

The GPU seems to stop working and only works again after I power down and power up the server (reboot doesn't work).

I did a PSU calculator and I had it come out at around 600W for everything that I have at the moment. I figured I was getting a little too close to the limits?

I doubt very much that it's the psu unless it has a fault. The pc in my siggy only pulls up to 252w at the wall while gaming and just under 300w at the wall with the GTX1070 heavily overclocked while being benchmarked. Try taking out the Geforce 210 and see if it makes any difference. There may be some sort of compatibility issue going on.

Diagnosed the issue. The PCI Express power connector to the GPU wasn't fully clicked in place. It looked connected but wasn't quite all the way. Plugged it in and tried playing some games again and everything seemed to be working nicely!

Thanks for the advice. Saved me upgrading the PSU for now!
