Greetings!
Whilst I'm patiently waiting for a sensibly priced GPU that actually does what I want it to, I'm thinking I might upgrade my old Dell U2415 monitor to a nice shiny 1440p one (Not really interested in chasing the 4K performance money pit ). Firstly, given the U2415 is 1200p, would I notice much difference? I assume I probably would from refresh rate alone if I went to 144Hz from 60Hz for example? But I do find some games just don't support 1200p and you are stuck with 1080p anyway so I assume 1440p would be more widely supported.
I'm not a hardcore FPS gamer and am very much looking at games more like Starfield and KSP2 with only a dash of FPS now and again. As you can tell by the fact I picked this monitor up in 2015 (yikes) I'm a bit out of touch with what's currently considered good and bad, so looking for some advice. I also play around with video and photo editing which is why I've always gone IPS panels in the past, not sure if this is still the case or there's better/alternative options these days?
Budget wise again I'm out of touch with what you need to spend to get something decent, but I'm very much a value for money kind of guy, so it'll depend on what is available at what price point. (I'm easily upsold but I don't get enough time to play to justify high end stuff )
This will be paired with a new GPU, something like a 4070 or AMD alternative depending on how the upcoming 7700XT/7800XT looks when it finally arrives.
So if anyone could point me in the right direction with some recommendations/thoughts I'd really appreciate it!
Cheers!
