New 144hz G-SYNC monitor and desktop wallpaper is now slightly pixelated?

Hi

I just recently got a new 144hz G-SYNC monitor (AOC 24 inch G2460PG). When I connected it up, changed the refresh rate to 144hz, I've noticed that my desktop wallpaper is now slightly pixelated. Everything else looks fine, and in game things look fine, it just seems to be desktop backgrounds.

Anyone any ideas what might be causing this?

Does it go away if you set your monitor to 120hz?
