I am looking at replacing my old faithful Creative P580 speakers with something a lot better. Problem is I am not really sure what 2.1 setup to buy.

I have recently sold my stereo, so whatever speakers I get must also have a separate input that I can hook up to the line out on my iPod docking station. That way at least I will have a home stereo of sorts (well until I buy another).

Ideally they need to have a headphone connection too as I don’t want to wake my son up if I am playing a game late at night.

I had considered the Aego M but then I realised they had no headphone connector (I used to have a plantronics switch which I stupidly threw away) so can anyone help me make the decision on what speakers my budget is £100?

Are there any good USB headphones as they could solve the problem, but will they sound a lot worse than my Sennheiser P150’s

Thanks

Take a look at the Altec Lansing MX5021 2.1 Speaker System, it has a headphone socket and a remote control ( which comes in quite handy) and sounds superb, i have two of these myself, one on my main pc and the other set on my HTPC
