My current PC is beating it's last breathes, and I decided that I would like to make a new rig with a budget of £700 with monitor, and everything else. I would prefer either Intel Core i7-4770K, or even AMD FX-8350, But I mainly want it for gaming, and to be able to run most games at high settings, at 1080p res. If you have any other CPU that you could recommend, I don't mind. Currently I'm open to all suggestions.

Thanks, and I hope to see many builds :)

Do you have anything that you're going to re-use such as the keyboard, mouse, psu etc?

What spec do you currently have, you could save some cash by just upgrading certain parts.

£700 wont get you an i7 gaming rig even without a monitor or peripherals :p, also i7 is way overkill for your needs id imagine

I would prefer the i7 4770k but, I'm open for suggestions like I said. I mainly want to do gaming, but I want 0 lagg. That's why I thought I'd buy a good CPU.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe CPU also plays a part with frame rates, ect, in today's gaming especially.

only after the game is no longer GPU bound (apart from a few special cases), with a 280 you wont be experiencing this much if at all, bottom line is for a gaming machine, spend more on gpu than processor, always

Do you think upgrading to AMD FX-8350 would be beneficial?

by the time you're paying for a 8350 imo you may as well get an i5

How much extra will that cost, as long it's under £800, I don't mind paying another 100 if I was to get a better build. Obviously lasting me a longer time. Before I can upgrade another.

yes you could include an i5 for under £800 which (imo) should last a good few years for 1080p gaming
