i've been looking around for a nice shiny new 24" screen and not sure which to get, after reading some reviews im really liking the hyundia W241d-pva at £423, and also just from pure looks also really liking the LG L245WP.

bascially i currently have a viewsonic vx2025wm which is great which i will be using possibly as my primary screen and then have a second 24" screen to use when i need it for games/work if i need more space and then also as a tv but obviously as it's a monitor it doesn't give the same connections and features as a standard tv though hoping hardware can be bought for this.

anyway hoping you guys can suggest which to go for out of the 2 i suggested or maybe any i have missed? im more for the hyundia from reviews but lg because imo it looks much nicer.

Is 24" the right pixel pitch to go with a 20.1"? i had a 19" not widescreen and because the pixel pitch was different it looked aweful when stuff went from one screento the next as it increases in size.

also is it possible to get a computer monitor to have the same features as a tv and looks as good? like im wanting to have it to have scart connections so i can plug in dvd/wii/friends xbox/future hd or bluray dvd player, analog connector for the virgin plus box, and also have remote control to turn it on/standby and change channels like a normal tv. i did buy a cheap tv card for pc but didn't like it as it was cheap and required the computer on to use which wasn't very good for night time when watching tv before bed and just wanting to hit the off button and snooze away. if this is also possible is there any way to get it so the screen doesn't go to standby but instead off so that the led light isn't on at night? i don't know how birhgt or even what coulour the light is but at my dads he has speakers with tiny tiny led blue lights but at night can light up the whole blooming room

so anyone can you guys help me out?

thanks a bunch

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dot_pitch:

A 20.1" screen seems to have a dot pitch of .258, while a 24" is .270, so things will still change size. If you can find a 23" display (at 1920x1200) then it would be the same, but there aren't many about. I think you're fairly unusual for wanting a multi-monitor setup with different size screens.

really? i bought my monitor almost 2 years ago and 2 buy a new one of the same size seems silly to me and as i said in the first post it will hopefully be used as a tv aswell which a 20" is too small for imo.

how bad do you think it will be? if im reading it right the 19 had 0.294 which is 0.036 difference where as the 24" is only 0.012 difference so should hopefully be bareable especially as they wont be side by side

can anyone help me out with turning it into a tv with the same features, on/off, change channel, scart and antenna for virgin media connection etc?

thats the only thing stopping me from buying one and now that ocuk have free delivery i really don't want to wait to have to buy one.

btw im probably going to go with the hyundia, though i do like the non hc dell
