EDIT:. Apologies, I forgot I already asked this question here before.

Hi all,

I'm upgrading bit by bit...

I'm hoping to get a 5600x processor, suitable motherboard and eventually a decent video card to play at 2560*1440.

Hence a suitable monitor in the mean time. I currently have one (Asus PB278Q) with a low refresh rate which I got back in 2013.

I'd like one with 2 HDMI slots so I can easily flick to a PS4/5 and a good refresh rate so I can get back into and enjoy PC gaming again. 27 to 32 inch.

I'm not looking at 4k as I'd only be a casual gamer.

Ive had the Asus VG27AQ in a basket for months as I like the look of it.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Have a good Xmas!

With Sony never giving Christmas presents PS5 still doesn't support 2560x1440.
So except for some 2560x1440 monitors capable to telling PS5 they're 3840x2160 monitors and then downscaling from that, you would be stuck at old 1920x1080.
(PS4 same resolution limits)
That possibly limits choises depending on if you want to trust Sony to take their head out of their arse and update supported resolution list, or for better resolution no matter what Sony does/doesn't do.

That VG27AQ anyway is old lowest common denominator sRGB colour gamut monitor, and should hence cost more like £300 to make sense.
Also 60Hz response time/overdrive performance is out of date and there's no even half decent overdrive mode for wide fps range.

Except for badly adjustable stand, MSI G273QF would be more modern panel with DCI-P3ish gamut and better all around response times/overdrive.
MSI OPTIX 27" G273QF 2560x1440 IPS 165Hz 1ms FreeSync/G-Sync Widescreen LED Backlit Gaming Monitor= £348.95

And for higher up MAG274QRF would one of the best with newer very wide both AdobeRGB and DCI-P3 gamut covering panel.
It also has that 4K emulation for PS5.
MSI 27" MAG274QRF-QD 2560x1440 IPS Quantum Dot 165Hz 1ms FreeSync/G-Sync Widescreen LED Backlit Gami= £498.95
Week ago that was IIRC in discount at £400, so might be findable at that price.

32" selection is pretty small and recent for 144Hz capable ones.
Gigabyte's M32Q is the cheapest with semi wide gamut Innolux panel.
Though response times/overdrive are well balanced.
Gigabyte 32" M32Q-EK 2560x1440 SS IPS 165Hz 0.8ms FreeSync LED Backlit Widescreen Gaming Monitor= £368.99

Then there's this LG with DCI-P3 gamut and excellent response times/overdrive.
LG 32" 32GP850-B 2560x1440 NANO IPS 165Hz 1ms FreeSync/G-Sync Compatible Widescreen Gaming Monitor= £449.99

After that we're talking about £600+ prices.

Hi,
Ive just bought a BenQ EX2780Q aboout a week ago and am very happy with it, at first it had a little bit of bleed acreoss the top right but after a week it seems to have gone so just has some IPS glow now. Its connected to the Invision gas ram arm.
The glow isant visible in the day and hardly noticable at night, the sppeakers and sub are pretty good too, I have my home laptop and work laptop connected and the mouse and keyboard connected to them both with a USB 3 switch.
I can recommend this monitor £319.00.
