I had bought everything for a new little ITX gamer build, but after giving it all a thought I just figured I bought it all to get something new to fiddle with, but in reality there's absolutely no need for that machine since I already have a perfect one, and my girlfriend is not interested in a new machine either since she's happy what what she's got. So therefore I sold it and the Asus GTX 670 DirectII CU 4GB card I had laying too. I figured going 3-way SLi with non-reference 4GB cards would be a bad idea heat wise, and also upon looking at benchmarks the difference between 2GB and 4GB cards (both GTX 670/680) was nearly non existent in 2560x1440 resolutions anyhow (seems like the 256bit bandwidth is limiting the cards anyhow), so I thought I'd just keep the 2GB GTX 670s as for now.

So instead I though I'd make a more "future proof" investment in a new TFT screen, which will last me at least a couple of years.
I want a 2560x1440 screen. I have looked and the new 29" 2560x1080 TFTs but they're just to "flat" for my liking in their height.
I've narrowed my choices down to 4 possible ones in the max £458 price range, that I will be able to purchase and which actually are available in Denmark.

- Asus PB278Q
- Dell UltraSharp U2713HM Philips
- Brilliance 272C4QPJKABll
- Philips Brilliance 272P4QPJKEB

So what I'm asking is if any one have first hand experience with one of those and which would be the best "all-rounder" both for movies, gaming, web browsing and a bit photoshopping ?

Thanks in advance :)

I am choosing a 27 inch on Friday in same boat as you, it's damn hard isn't it?:p

I am game often so need one with good input lag but good image quality too so i narrowed it down too:

Asus PB278Q
HP ZR2740W
Yamakasi Catleap

Obviously the Dell is a great monitor but for someone who games often online i think the input lag may annoy them now and then but i might be wrong here as 22ms isn't too bad.People on here have gone with the Catleap which you have to overclock to 120hz i believe and i have no idea how to do this for a monitor. :p

My mind is mainly set on the Asus at the moment due to the really good reviews it has received and being a great all round monitor that also performs very well in games.(the price is nice too)

Edit: Decided not to go for 27 inch as i know i am going to miss 120hz too much but if i did it would be the Asus.

Ditto ;) I am also very hooked on the Asus PB278Q after having read some review and user reviews and also watched some youtube videos that showed how the input lag was and how the frame overshoot was. - all looked very good.

Hi I bought the asus a couple of weeks ago and have to say that I am quite impressed with it as colours are much better than the acer gn245hq I had and haven't noticed any input lag while playing games
