Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new monitor and from reading around i'm thinking of going with a monitor as in subject. At the moment I've a Dell U2410 S-IPS and would like an upgrade to it.
From reading up on the subject I'm not too keen on going 120/1440 Hz if I can force around 75-80Hz out of a 2560x1440 monitor.
I've also heard that IPS glow is a varying problem in IPS panels and would like something that minimises this, as I play a fair amount of stealth based games.
The other consideration is how grainy the matte filter makes the panel as on the 2410 it is pretty bad!

So what do ye guys reckon, based on the above or just in general?

Thanks,

Zeal

The screen coating nowadays isn't as grainy as it was on some older panels. This was never something that bothered me though and I actually found it reduced eye strain as the eye actually has a surface to focus on. And no reflections ofcourse is a plus.

So you gonna go 16:9 ratio this time?, but remember that resolution is hard to push unless you have the gpu power.

So after some looking around I'm considering either the Dell U2713H or the Viewsonic VP2770. Anyone have any thoughts on how these two weigh up besides?

Thanks!

Indeed I had, and was favouring the dell until I read some peoples concerns such as ghosting, a wide gamut leading to inaccurate colours and a tint to some of the colour modes that is unchangeable.
Eg. using the gaming mode gives a yellow green tint but offers less response time while other modes don't lock the colour settings but have a greater response time. Summed up here- http://www.overclock.net/t/1397690/dell-u2713h-issues (couldn't find any 'do not post links to other forums' rules)

I'd go for the dell as it seems to have a greater black depth if not for the apparent ghosting and tint issues and I think I read that it's IPS glow is brighter as well...

in any case my doubts over it are why I posted again.
