New 3080 - No Display Output - HELP!

That has certainly crossed my mind yes, would wait for 3rd party reviews but they look like strong cards. Questions around their Ray-Tracing perf tho.. will wait and see 3rd party reviews.

Looks like the consensus is dead card, thanks the help though all, very much appreciated.

That's why I haven't cancelled my 3080 order yet, still a few hundred back in the queue, so have enough time to see 3rd party 6800XT reviews to confirm and also to try and get one, but it looks like at resolutions bellow 4K the 6800XT totally dominates the 3080 even with SAM discounted and you get 6GB extra VRAM and it's £50 cheaper.

In your position though I'd consider this an easy way out, it's faulty, free return, get a cheap used GPU to tide you over until you can get another 3080/6800XT.

Have you tried running your PC on its side? The 3080 is quite heavy and it might be sagging enough to break contact.

So I'm writing this with the 3080 working! Absolute shout on the GPU sag thankyou so much! Without the support bracket the card looks to be mounted correctly (it clicks in and doesn't look to sag to much at all) but when I laid it down and unscrewed it so it freely rests in the slot.. bingo it works. Installed the sag bracket messed around for an hr or so and all is well.

Wonder if my motherboard (being a bit old and certainly not top end) has some iffy connections as I see loads of others not using the bracket without issue.

Thankyou so much for all your help, what a great community!

Glad you sorted it. We are the best! But 1 of us is king

Might want to look at a new board, B550's can be had for around £80, however you may then be tempted to get a Ryzen 5000 :p

Glad it's working!!
Some of the more pricy motherboards have strengthened PCI-E sockets so they can better support heavy graphics cards. Maybe worth considering when you next upgrade :)

I just had to say i got my 3080 evga also today , and lost my mind trying to figure out what is the problem. Once i tried it it worked perfectly! Thank you all very much !
