New 32" 4K - What to get?

I was originally going to source myself a 30" 2560x1600 monitor to upgrade from my Hazro HZ27WD.

But after some research (and plugging my PC into my 4K TV!) I think a 32" 4K would be better.
Therefore I'm currently debating if I should get the LG 32UD59, Samsung U32H850 or splash out on the 32UD89.

Given the panel differences between the 32UD59 (VA) and 89 (IPS), would I really notice unless they were side by side? I'm edging towards the IPS as at 32" towards the edges you may start to get color shift given the perspective?

I've spent hours going over panel differences, etc. It'll be used for a mix of things (Photography, Gaming, "office" work with two documents next to each other, etc..).

Must have requirements are:

Freesync
32"
4K
DDC/CI support (Brightness/Contrast/etc) can be controlled via software.
Decent warranty behind it.
Otherwise just a decent panel with good colour/contrast properties.

Thoughts?

Cheers.

Budget wise well lower the better, theoretically I could splash out on the 32UD99 at £1k but as I don’t earn money from it I’d prefer lower...

I suppose I’m looking at value for money!

I’ve looked at the 99 too but I don’t see it as much of an improvement over the 89?

Thanks!

Ordered a 32UD59 to see if I can live with the size and if FreeSync 40-60 is worth it.

Flight Sim runs at 30ish if I'm lucky, so might as well have a 60hz screen in that situation.

Plus the new Dell U3219 is out (Can get that for £750ish) so I can wait for reviews there.

Had a play with the 32UD59 - colour shift is too obvious even on the desktop!

FreeSync isn't as beneficial as I thought it would be (I didn't know that if the game isn't "true" full screen it doesn't work) therefore the only game I play which it supports is AOTS. Even then running the benchmark with it on and off in the 30-70 FPS range I could not tell the difference.

So I've sent it back and got a BenQ PD3200U for £150 more.

The built in USB hub and SD card reader is useful (declutter!), the puck is useful to quickly shift modes - the IPS panel is perfect and to top it all off not a single dead or lazy pixel.

TL;DR: 32UD59 is too big for a VA panel to be used, don't even bother IMO.

Have zero problem with my LG 32GK850G-B tbh, maybe it depends on panel-to-panel?

Don't believe its a panel to panel thing, just that VA has worse viewing angles to IPS.
Moving my head left to right would make the icons on the left or right wash out.

That panel is 2560x1440, so perhaps the larger pixels don't suffer from the wash out as the 4K ones do?

Either way this IPS panel is spot on.

Really happy with mine. Bargain. Factory calibrated too, wasn't expecting that.

Indeed! Something like 0.6 DelE or whatever the unit is for me.

Puck is really useful going from sRGB to Low Blue Light.

Only complaint is the single DP but DP to miniDP works so not all bad!

I hope you are not serious. There is no wash out at angles with VA TVs.

As an idea this is super stupid because a TV is made to be looked at from any point in a room.
Monitors are not.

Your coming very close to being the first member I've added to my ignore list as I seriously can't understand why your arguing about this.

My 55" VA panel 4K TV also suffers from this too.

I had both monitors, side by side and the washout on the LG was irritatingly visible whilst the BenQ had no noticeable drop off. This is backed up by numerous reviews and online statements about VA's poor viewing angles compared to IPS.

Either way if you don't have anything factually correct to add to this thread please avoid posting in it
