The latest in the rumor mill is that the new premium Xbox 360s will come with a 100gb hardrive...

i work at bestbuy, Store located in New Jersey. Our Microsoft rep contacted our store, and spoke to my supervisor and told him that if we receive any xbox 360 Premiums, to hold them and cannot sell them until the end of March, she stated that the reason for this was because the xbox 360 premiums would be shipped with 100 gigabyte HDDs, instead of the 20 GIG HDDs avalible now, she also said that the 100 gig HDD premiums would sell for the same price of $400. In bestbuys retail weekly i also read that in the beginning of April bestbuy is doing a promotion from April 2nd until April 15th, this promotion has to do with the media department only, they stated that we will have a huge inventory of xbox 360s. I know that bestbuys inventory and promotion news is 100% offical, but the 100 GIG HDD is not 100% offical, but seems very likely.

*******! and i get stuck with a mere 20gb :/

If this is the case i can see MS doing some sort of deal again like they did with the early price drop on the original XBox. Either free games/controller or a swap out plus small amount of money for the new drive.

Well if they do come out at the same £280 as the 20gb then we should just be able to swap our drives for em, no way would i pay extra, **** that, not if everyone else is not paying any extra. :)

As much as I agree, if they get them we should (even if it costs a little), why the hell do we need 100gb? Surely this is just going to make it easier for the mod community, as they wont be a requirement to swap out the drives as much.

That's gong on the assumption it's ever cracked, which it may not be. And besides, if they do manage it, I'm sure the first thing they will work out is how to upgrade the disk anyway.

I'd like some sort of deal to upgrade my 20gb....MS seem ok in that area, i remember getting my 2 games and a pad after the xbox price drop. Only thing that will **** me off is having to get a mem card to transfer saves and stuff

LOL, imo if the premium shipped with a 200GB HDD for £30 less as of tomorrow then we still wouldn't have a reason to complain. Things move on, prices drop, its just a fact of buying consumer goods and the sooner you buy into a product the worse you'll get stung.

Having said that I can't see it being true :p

I hope so if they do! its the right thing to do. I quite fancy giving the 30 quid to upgrade to 100gb!

Are you mad, the Premiums £280 with a 20gb drive, the Premiums going to be £280 with a 100gb drive, but you want to pay over £300 for it.

Would you like to buy one of these Samsung HD Tv's 32", ive got some brand new ones only £550, but ill do you a good deal, you can have one for £600. :D

can't see this happening, i can see it in the future if microsoft were to start offering some sort of film/game downloading service through xbox live. Otherwise i can't see the need for more than 20gb if the only stuff available through live is demos and trailers.

100GB+ drives would be nice, but people tend to forget that with the 360 we are talking about 2.5" drives, not regular 3.5" drives that are much cheaper.

It looks like over £100 quid for a 100GB 2.5" driver - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Western_Digital_Notebook.html

Obviously MS can push them out a lot cheaper, but I still think they'd have trouble keeping a premium under £300 with a 100GB drive.

Shame there couldn't be some sort of external hard drive via USB. Would be much easier :)

Laurio :D
