============================
on a side note

ran 3dmark06 only got 5100 used to get 4100 with my old card

other spec

4200X2 - cpu
dfi lanparty ultra d - mobo
2gig DDR2 running at reduced speed (333 i think) cos of known mobo fault
windows vista ultimate

my score about righ or a bit low??

seems very low...although your CPU is definitely affecting the score if it's at stock.

What are your individual sm2/sm3/cpu scores? Did you do a standard 1280x1024 run with no AA or AF...and slider set to performance?

i get 4965 wth my 3800x2, 2gig pc3200 and a 7900gt 512mb, vista home premium, you should be getting around 9000.

yeah standard run

1436 cpu
2155 sm2.0
2430 hdr/sm3.0

didnt think it was right

yeah cpu is at stock, never really looked at overclocking didnt think i could with my ram issue??

Something is up with your 3d card. Are you sure the PCI-E link is @ 16x and not 1x or something?

Below is my 3dmark06 score @ 1280x1024 with 4xAA and 16x AF....and I have a 3850...so you should definitely be getting a higher score than that!

cpuz shows link width at 2x .........max supported 16x pls dont tell me ive been running it wrong all this time.....

yeah wont boot in slot one thou, changing jumpers to sli mode on mobo does change aperture to 8x in each slot so 3dmark has jumped to 7020, which is a start eh

gunna have a tinker later see if i can get it to boot in slot 1 so i can actually use at 16x

then i can look at getting new ram, then possibly overclocking cpu :)

8x should be fine if you can't get 16x.
Even an 8800GTX sees only a small increase when jumping from 8x to 16x.

16 is better for obvious reasons, but only marginally. So running at 8x isn't that big a deal.
