Hi everyone,

I just wanted to check the parts etc of my build before I start ordering to make sure that I haven't overlooked any blatant incompatibilities. The build is gonna be for 3d Movies/Games (mainly movies) and possibly a bit of anything else (video editing/programming etc.).

Also this is the first rig I've built so let me know if there's anything that I've missed from my list.

Many thanks in advance for all your help :D

What is your budget? You could save a decent amount of money by getting rid of that expensive motherboard and 1tb SSD. (unless you specifically need either of them, obviously)

Hi Dave, and welcome to OCUK.

Gotta say, it looks like a good build to me and should do really well for your movies and games.

The 1TB SSD is mega expensive, but if you reckon you will use it well and can afford it then fair play.

The only things you may want to consider adding is a mechanical HDD (for all the files that don't need a super fast SSD) and perhaps a fan controller bay (to keep the noise down as much as possible).

Budget isn't too much of an issue at the moment for me (this was all just about within my budget as I had it planned out). I would like to keep the motherboard if poss, though I might downgrade the SSD to a 500gb/250gb and get a new 4TB SATA sometime down the road. I suppose the performance of the 1tb/500gb/250gb drives are all the same?

What's a good make/model of fan controller bay for this kind of setup?

Also would i need to add more case fans to the HAF-X or would the ones built in as standard do the job?

Many thanks once again for all your help.
